Lake City

Designed by veterans and nationally recognized for its innovation, Cabins for Veterans proudly serves Lake City.  Veterans experiencing homelessness are served at our  Veteran’s program featuring 31 efficiency apartments in a rural, relaxed wooded sanctuary close to the VA hospital.  For recreation, veterans enjoy a community room, gardening, grills, and horseshoe pits.  Other amenities include a pet friendly atmosphere, screened patios, personal mailboxes and laundry facilities.  Individuals are expected to pay 30% of their income toward rent, and basic utilities are included.  If a person has no income, they are not expected to pay rent until they begin to receive income.

The program strives to promote the self-sufficiency of veterans who have experienced homelessness by providing a safe and affordable place to live.  The agency serves these veterans through our Housing, Health Services, and Training/Education/Employment services.
